The Scottish Marriage Index.
The Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society has compiled a searchable database of marriages where at least one of the parties was Scots. The majority of these marriages took place outside Scotland, including England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Since the database lists the place of birth of the bride and groom as well as the names of their parents it is an excellent resource for those researching their Scots ancestry. It is possible to contribute your own information via email and potentially contact other submitters.
