Hi all
I wonder if anyone has access to the parish records of St Martins in Birmingham ?
A kind friend on here has found a potential marriage for my GGGGf William Anson (or Hanson) to Sarah Dyas on 27/2/1842 at St Martins.
Also birth of Clara Hanson born 16/5/1847 xened 24/4/1848
Also birth William Hanson born 25/6/1845 xened 14/7/1845.
I need the details of the marriage and also if there is a birth/christening for my GGGf Thomas born 1849/1850.
All help would be very much appreciated
Paul Hughes

Hi Paul,
I cant find his Christening but various Family Trees have 1861/1871 etc Census for William but none seem to have the 1851 so will post in case you dont have it also;

HO107/2023/401/25
William ANSON, 33, Head, Mar, Journeyman Locksmith

1861 Census has your Thomas born c 1852, Walsall, Staffordshire.
By this time Sarah has died and William has remarried to Emma GARBETT in 1856.

Again,thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
Excellent and please let us know what the Cert says when you get it :)

Hi Paul,
I think that your Thomas Hanson is the brother of my GGGF George Hanson who was born in 1859 in Walsall, Staffordshire. George had much older siblings as well as younger and mother Emma, father William. I believe Emma is William's 2nd wife. The information I obtained from the 1861 Census is found following this link in household - I would be interested to see if this is the same family you have been looking at.
Cheers,
Cathy.

Hi Cathy
Yes this is the same family-My GGGF William married twice-1St to Sarah Dyas and they had 4 children,Thomas,William,Clara and Caroline, then to Emma Garbett and up to press I have found 10 children-He was certainly fertile !!
Children I have are Alice,George Henry,Ellen,Emma,Alice,Jane,James,Alfred,Joseph Ernest and Laura.Have you got that George married Alice Wainwright ? I presume you have.
I am having a little difficulty in getting back prior to William.I thimk his mother and father were William born 1791 and Mary (or Ann Maria) born 1794.
Have you anything to help ??
Regards
Paul

Hi Jim and Paul,
How exciting, especially as I'm relatively new to this business! I don't have much more information to help you out unfortunately...I suspected William had married twice due to Emma's age compared to the older children but it's great to now have that confirmed.
Good to know William was prolific and interesting to see how far we have spread - we live in Australia. Do you know of any other relatives interested in the Hansons?
Thanks
Cathy.

Hi Cathy
If you would care to send me a private message with your e mail address I can send you an invite to My Heritage site where you will find loads of other Hansons (Ansons)
Paul
I have I think approaching 1000 in my tree !!

Hi,
Is there an online source of parish records like these? I'm a member of ancestry.co.uk but find the parish record section hard to navigate.
I'm trying to find information about tthe marriage of David Derrington (1738 - 1805) to Sarah Gilbert (b circa 1734) at St Martin's Birmingham on 16th April 1769.
I'm hoping to find David's profession, address or parents names, or ditto for Sarah.
Thanks!
-
David was a buckle maker.
They were both of the Parish of St.Martin's.They were bachelor & spinster.
The witnesses were William Deane & William Band.
You won't find the B'ham Parishes on Ancestry.
You've tagged onto the end of someone else's post.
For any more queries can you start a new topic.
