Hello
Arthur D Hopkinson married Lily Millington in Watford in Dec Q 1917. They went on to have Arthur David Hopkinson in 1922. I have a likely death for Arthur senior in Hemel Hempstead in 1947 aged 68. I cannot find a birth to fit with this. I also cannot find Arthur on any census.
Can anyone help please?

I could be either of those births, but if I am to believe that the death record I found is him, then he should have been born around 1879. I think I will have to buy both the death and marriage and see if they are the same person.
Will have a closer look at the census you provided and see if there are any clues.

I'd buy the marriage cert first ,it should tell you who his dad was and should lead you to finding him on a census somewhere.
It should also tell you what the D stands for ;D

My Mother is Arthur David Hopkinson's daughter. Are you still looking for information? Your birth and death dates are correct and he also had other children, however my mother is his last surviving child. happy to help with any info you need. Are you related?
