Sorry if this has been answered somewhere before( I think it may have been) but am in a rush,
Exactly what information is to be had from the "medal Card" that can be downloaded from the national archives? How much fleshing of bones can be acheived?
Thanks
Gazza

Good luck,
Bob

Thanks for that Bob. :D
I hope that isnt all the card contains. There are 100's of Herbert Gibsons medal cards. I was wondering how I can tell wether I have the right one. Will the card give a place of birth or anything?
Didnt want to waste £3.50 for nothing

Judging from the given thread and other comments elsewhere on RootsChat, I believe that there is actually very little "useful" info on these cards.
try "medal cards" in the RootsChat search engine, maybe you can find more relevant posts (I only gave you the first one I found)
Good luck,
Bob

My grandfather's medal card gives:
Name
Corps
Rank
Servce Number
Medal Entitlement
Theatre of war first served in
Date of entry therein
"Remarks" section - contains simply date of discharge
No personal info whatsoever!
