Title: Report to Moderator link.
Post by: Glen Field on Friday 31 December 10 14:25 GMT (UK)
Is there something wrong with this function at the moment? I have tried to use it three times in the past few days and nothing seems to happen. The screen just goes blank for a short while and then returns to the particular board that I was on. There is no notification that the report has been sent or received. GF

Hi Glen

The Moderators have indeed received several reports from you over the past few days - but they were blank, so we haven't acted on them.  Sometimes people click things out of curiosity, so we don't always follow up!

Are you seeing this screen when you click the report to Moderator button?

I do see the lower part of that screen but when I have hit "Submit" there has been no indication of what has happened. Should there be a response screen which I am somehow not seeing? GF

First issue - you need to fill in the form with a comment about why you are sending the report to Moderator (R2M in shorthand).

Then click submit and it will not confirm the message but will return you to the board (note - not the message) that you were previously looking at.

We immediately get the message that you have typed into the form, as an email notification.  Which we did receive, but of course it was blank.

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Thank you for explaining. It seems very odd to me that there is no response mechanism built into the system to indicate that the report has actually been submitted. I had no idea what had happened and therefore tried repeatedly to make it work. GF

Perhaps another sentence could be added to the 'Report to moderator' screen, along these lines:

'After you have clicked on 'submit' you will be returned to the board on which the message was displayed'.

I guess people learn by trial and error - it hasn't been mentioned before, so either they work it out or they give up!   ;D

I will mention it to Adminstration but I think they are quite busy at the moment with other things, so it might not be a priority ...
