Hi Lu,
Do you have any clues as to where this might have taken place?
Best wishes,

Hi Copperbeech5
Thanks.
Sorry, I dont have any clues as to "where".
The info I have on this man comes from "The Cyclopaedia of Canterbury" (NZ).
"... he worked on Victorian Railways for 7 years (from c. 1854) ... married in VIC to a daughter of Mr. William RUDDLE of Belfast (Ireland) ... came to NZ in 1863. "
His surname was often misspelt as "DICKENSON".

Yes that's the correct family ... many thanks Jenn.
I'll endeavour to trace the daughter through NZ records.
Happy New Year. :)

The record Jenn found was for passage in April 1863 so a 3 year old would have been born 1859-1860.
Still nothing matching on the register ???

Mmm ... yes, I was fairly sure the daughter had been born in VIC prior to their departure.
Never mind, I'll just dig a little deeper in NZ ... I'm sure she'll turn up eventually. ;)
Thanks again Alison.
