Title: James Telfer - writer
Post by: castlebob on Friday 07 January 11 09:07 GMT (UK)
Hello All,
I've seen refs to James Telfer writing pieces for the 'Border Magazine' in the 19th C. One article I'm particularly keen on reading is a piece he wrote concerning Armstrong origins.
Does anyone know if the above is viewable anywhere?
Cheers,
Bob

Hi

I think the Heritage Hub may have copies of the 'revived' Border Magazine which began publication in 1896, but the 1831 version, including the article you are interested in is viewable at Google Books:

http://books.google.com/books?id=etcPAAAAQAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=border+magazine&hl=en&ei=IwwnTcWkHIqIhQempM2FAg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCcQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false

(Go to Google Books and search 'Border Magazine' if the unlikely-looking link doesn't work!)

regards,
Lesley
