Title: Stantonbury or Soulbury
Post by: lisingreece on Sunday 27 February 11 10:43 GMT (UK)
I know that for some parishes shown on the LDS sites are in a muddle and at the moment they are unable to repair these mistakes.

Does anyone know of confusion with the above parishes or is it just me getting confused

Thanks
Lis

Hi Lis.

Stantonbury is/was in the Newport Pagnell Poor law Union.(Newport Hundred).

Soulbury is/was in the Leighton Buzzard Poor Law Union. (Cottesloe Hundred).

Is that any help.?

Steve. :)

Thank you Bucksboy, that is not my difficulty.

In Kent the area I know bes, the LDS confuse parishes. For example Orlestone records are written or confused with Oare. I have my own Orlestone records and can tell when this happens.
But I don't know Bucks and as I found the same record names and dates in both Stantonbury and Soulbury I was hoping someone would say thats how it is for those 2 parishes. Then I would have to find which parish is the correct one.
I have contacted the LDS about this problem in the past but they cannot correct these faults at the moment.
It happens with quite a few parishes in Kent.

Thats my difficulty Bucksboy.
Thank you for replying

Lis

Hi Lis,

Have you thought of contacting BucksFHS for any help, or is your issue only with the LDS.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Steve. :)

Thanks for trying Steve.

I must ask for a look up in Soulbury I think.

But this issue with the LDS is important for us all to be aware of and on the look out for.
They are releasing so many records without the facility of repairing mistakes.
nevertheless I am very grateful to them

I'm having same problem searching COSTIN relatives in 1600s.
Has anyone had any progress on which is correct?
