Hi
So born 1884 died 1966
Was he born in Stirling or is he the 1891 entry born in Norfolk - parents Emerson & Sarah
-
Yes, Robert was born in Norfolk, and was said to run away to join the Army, fibbing about his age. That is why there is c. 1884, could be a couple of years out.

Kind regards

They had 15 children & my father Edward (1901-1985) was the youngest male. iI would like to know what information you are looking for & if you are a member of the extended family.

Hi Daisy 01 ,sorry for the late reply. I was the last of my generation to be born, in 1937, & my sister & I are the only survivors .I recall my father saying on many occasions that the family came from the Reepham area of Norfolk & there are a number of Eglington farmers in the Reepham, Bawdswell ,& Shipdham areas .I have little knowledge of the rest of the extended family . Emerson (1854) was a carpenter & I believe Emerson (1833) was also .I can recall from my early teens how my fathers brothers & sisters were employed if this is of interest to you .Do you have any dates for John & Anne or where they came from ?
Kind regards
Tony.

Hi Tony, from Robert Eglington, who ran away at 16 to join the army it is told, came three sons, Emerson William, Robert Douglas, and William Donal Sanderson. (1925-2014). William married Mary McMaster, (1927-1982) my mother and father. They were divorced 1966 and he and his 2nd wife, Ann Jarvis, emigrated to Australia. They had two sons, Robert and David, who still live there. William (Bill) was a pilot in the RAF just after the war and was stationed 1953-56 in Singapore. When he left the airforce he did many jobs, the most exciting of which was ariel photography in Perth, Australia.
So I believe you may be my uncle :)
