Hi there Gortonboy and Tmo,
His name was William Hubert Coopey and he was born in Twigworth Gloucester. I believe from some research that one of the local landowners had a connection to the Munsters . An elderly granddaughter (92trs old ) remembers her mother, William Huberts daughter telling her how she watched him marching off in his uniform.
AlsoI know that one of William Hubert's sons served in the Munsters in WW1.
As regards scanning the picture I am not very techno minded but as soon as my daughter comes back from holiday I will ask her to do it for me.

yes we are talking about the same person, born 1857. I am aware that he would have been quite old for Boer War service but he was avery patriotic man and even joined up during WW1 and served in the Welsh Regiment supply depot.
