Hi folks,
I am trying to find out where in the area someone from Embo would be interred, I am researching a Robert Smith died 1972, he was married to (Nan) Margaret Fraser who I believe came from Embo at the very least there was some strong connection as I further believe they made many visits to the area, I understand from what I know Nan only spoke Gaelic. Are there many graveyards ? Are there any published lists ?
Thanks for taking the time to read and for any assistance offered.

Have you confirmed that he did die in Embo?
Your post above gives the impression that they lived elsewhere but made visits to Embo

Hi Carole,
Sorry if my post was vague, I will plead old age and hope you forgive me, I think Nan Fraser came from Embo, the only marriage which fits in my research is a Williamina Fraser marrying a Robert Turner Smith in Tain in 1937. They stayed in Denny, Stirlingshire again I think but they visited Embo often. Robert died in Denny, but Nan had him interred in Embo, I just don`t know what graveyards there are in that area. I am unsure as to the wherabouts of Nan.

Hi
No problem - that clarifies everything

Hi,
Embo is in the parish of Dornoch. You could try and contact the local council to see what information is available regarding burials and cemeteries, see www.highland.gov.uk/livinghere/birthsdeathsandmarriages/contacts/ You have a date of death for your grandfather (do you have the exact date in 1972?) which will help with any searches.

There's a death for a Robert Smith 1972 Denny Stirling(born c. 1920).
From your original post(now merged) you say Nan's name was Margaret Fraser , do you think that is no longer the case ?

Hi EV,
the truth is I just do not know. I have tried on Scot/people. However the name Smith with other info I input returns so many names I am unable to identify. I only have info that she was known as Nan. My hope was to find Robert`s grave and stone if lucky to glean info to set me on the trail. I know that is all very vague.
