Hi All,
Am currently in the process of scanning numerous old Lincolnshire area photos, having acquired them. There are a few agricultural ones, as well as place-orientated ones, so will post them as I get round to doing them.
For starters, here are the first two, these being two old post cards of Hundleby Church, Spilsby.
Regards
Paul

Hi,
Next up...The George Hotel, Stamford, 1915 (Streetscene)
-
Any Boston photo's to come please?
-
Or Holbeach?
I've got photos of Boston and Holbeach taken a couple or so years ago, but I'd love to see some old ones from 1800s.

ps. Hi Roger - not noticed you on Roots for a few days, was going to e-mail you to see if all was well.

Fine thanks Lizzie, Been to Doncaster for an Archaeology meeting on Tuesday evening.

Hi,
It's a family album I'm scanning, the areas being Wainfleet St.Mary, Bratoft, Burgh-le-Marsh...ish, so I'm doubtful that there'll many from the Boston area or others for that matter. You never know though...
Anyway, next up is an aerial view of Burgh-le-Marsh, taken it would seem in the 1950's...

...and another....
Not too sure where this is, can anyone identify the church perhaps? Anyway, appears to be turn of last century...
EDIT: For information, I have recently been able to verify that the this photograph was taken in Willoughby, the church in the background being St. Helen's Church (C of E).

Here we have a group of farmers at work. I think this would have been taken in the Wainfleet area...
-
To me, they look more like labourers working on a road, (or ditch) than farmers.

Yes some sort of large drainage channel.
-
Possibly one of the major maintenance jobs on the drainage canals and waterways to ensure they don't silt up and cause flooding. Relatives of mine owned a farm in the Burgh area in the 2nd half of the 19th century so I am very interested.

Given the general area I wonder if they were preparing for the installation of the large culvert at Thorpe, now known as Thorpe Culvert as a result.?
-
I thought they might be digging for tatties :) :)
-
If they were Eilleen, then they would be digging into the sides of earth mounds known as graves.
-
Hi,
Ah, Thorpe Culvert. That may well be it, as that's pretty much a stone's throw from the general area this family came from.

...and another couple. First up, All Saint's Church, Wainfleet, 1907.
