Greetings from the Uk.
My Gt Uncle Stephen, emigrated to Australia in the 1920'a or so we think?
He allegedly joined the Australian military - we are pretty sure it was the Air Force, but we could be wrong...
He fought in WW2 and sustained injuries; including a metal plate in his skull!
We believe he married, but had no children.
Not even sure which part of Australia he lived in.
Can any one help?
Trying to sort the family tree out for my Mum's 80th birthday!
Thanks for reading.
Best wishes,
Lilli Leamington Spa, UK

I read the address on the shipping record in Ireland as Pullathomas but it is
1911 Census
Living at 12 in Kilcommon or Pollatomish [Knocknalower, Mayo] - abbreviated census info to give names of parents.
NALTY Edward 38 years Head Auxiliary Postman and Farmer Married
NALTY Jane 35 years Wife
NALTY Bessie 10 years Dau
NALTY Patrick 8 years Son
NALTY Stephen 6 years Son born Co Mayo
NALTY Edward 4 years Son 4
NALTY Mark 2 years Son
NALTY James St Patrick Son
NALTY Bridget 77 years Mother
I have trawled the 1930 election roll for NSW/MARTIN/Gordon but can't see an Ida SINCLAIR whom you mentioned on another thread, that he lived with when he arrived in Australia. Perhaps he had moved on by 1930 or she had married by that date.
Cheers

I see from Leanne's post there was a Mary Nalty as Stephen's next of kin on his WW2 papers. There was a Mary Nalty, licensed victualler, Leichhardt Hotel at Emerald in Queensland on the 1943 Electoral Roll!

The census information lists the family outlined in the above post.
The engagement notice notes Stephen as son of the late Mr and Mrs E Nalty. ?Edward. I think the 'of Gordon' would refer to Stephen.

Deaqr Leanne, Sue, Cando and Gerry,
thank you so much for all your help.
You did find my Gt Uncle Stephen! He was a fruit seller - this only came to light yesterday in a conversation with my 90 year old aunt!
Thank you for all your hard work, it is much appreciated.
