Hello,
I'm looking for any relatives of mine from the Gribben (Sp.) side of my Tree. I have 5 Gribben siblings, all children of John Gribben & Mary McGhee from Ireland. The family were born in Ireland and moved over to Scotland from 1845 - 1871. Anyone descended from these children and their spouses please get in touch -
James Gribben 1811 - 1878 & Jean Brown 1819 - ? They lived in New & Old Monkland.
Mary Gribben 1816 - 1895 & James Scally 1814 - 1890. They lived in Glasgow.
Jane Gribben 1823 - 1879 & James McCullen ? - ? Lived in Westmuir Street.
Robert Gribben 1825 - 1863 & Catherine Brown 1834 - 1885. Lived in Old Monkland.
Patrick Gribben 1826 - 1879 & Agnes McKeirnan 1833 - 1905. Lived in Old Monkland.

My ggg grandparents James SCALLY and Mary GRIBBON came from Ireland and their birth and death dates are the same as your ancestors. I also have a bit more information on the family. Get in touch and I can share the information I have.

I can tell you that James Gribbin, son of Robert Gribbin and Catherine Brown, married Margaret Owens in 1880 in Airdrie.
James Gribbin and Margaret Owens had a son, James Gribbin, who married Annie Vallance in 1919 in Kilmarnock.
Annie Vallance Gribbin, daughter of James Gribbin and Annie Vallance, married Gavin Bell (my relation) in 1942 in Dalziel. They are both deceased but had issue.

On my dads birth certificate is a Samuel Gribben from Coatbridge listed as his father. He wasn’t married to my granny but they had twins on 21st March 1934. My dads name was James Hair Gribben, very unusual middle name.
