hi to all
Im looking for info regarding darren velyn or felyn
i have a birth certificate of my great uncle dated 6 oct 1887
name isaiah jones son of isaiah and harriet jones
place of birth helo rank darren velen llanelly in the county of brecon
i know the modern version is possibly darren felyn
iam i right in thinking he was born in llanelly hill brynmawr
and can anyone tell me more about helo rank as i suspect this
may have been a line of cottages

Isaiah Jones head b 1860  Wednesbury  Staffs collier
Harriet wife b 1862 Dudley Worcestershire
William  G son b 1881 Dudley ..
sarah J b 188 Dudley ..
Isaiah Jones b 1888 Tredegar Monmouthshire
I see the family in 1881 in Dudley Rg11 2865/84/11
I noticed Isaiah works in the iron works .

apologies are due I had not seen this message
Thankyou for taking the time and trouble to help
this is indeed my family yet it clearly states on the birth cert I have
that isaiah was born in darren felyn I may need to look again
but all other names ie parents are correct...isaiah snr and isaiah junior both
later died as a result of accidents( roof falls )in bedlinog colliery isaiah senior 1895 killed outright and junior in 1904
at home three days after a roof fall
Thankyou again it was not my intention to be rude or ignore this post

There's an area called Darran Valley on modern Google Maps to the southwest of Tredegar.
