Can anyone help? I'm trying to find a date of death for Catherine (Kate) Carson nee Leslie who died between 1911 and 1916 in Drogheda. The family were RC and parishioners of St Peter's in the town.
She was born in 1870 Co Louth to Thomas Leslie and Anne Reilly (O'Reilly).
The 1911 census shows she is still alive but her widower and family migrate to Liverpool in 1916. I'd be grateful for any help establishing the date of her death.

there doesn't seem to be any good matches for her death on the BMD Index anywhere in Ireland between 1911 and 1916 - see : link (https://www.familysearch.org/search/records#count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Akate~%20%2Bsurname%3Acarson~%20%2Bdeath_year%3A1909-1919&collection_id=1408347)
are you certain she died in Ireland ?

there's just one Carson death listing between those deaths in the registration district for Drogheda - a Sam Carson born c1866, died in 1916

Only Henry and his family migrated in 1916 (except for eldest daughter Margaret who married Patrick Byrne in Ireland) all handed down from the last surviving child.
-
do you have details of when and where did this marriage took place ?
Shane

Looks likely ............ weird! I had been given them as married in Drogheda. ::)

I'd allow for inaccuracies in passed down stories... they can have dates and other details mixed up a little... so it's worth verifying each step.

Strange I can find no children for daughter Margaret Carson and Patrick Byrne on FreeBMD yet I have a list of 7 named children. ??? I wonder if they got married in Liverpool but went back to Ireland?
-
have a look at the familysearch for Byrne/Carson births in in Ireland in the late 1920s / early 1930s. There are three listed in the Drogheda district that may be your Byrnes... too recent to mention in a post due to the living people rule, but they could fit.
to search for them on the BMD Index enter just the child's surname and mother's surname
There are a few other much later (1950s) Byrne/Carson children - I suspect these are probaly unrelated.

They could be Shane, as could the later ones, remember Margaret was the eldest daughter. Also Edward Leslie (her uncle and Catherine's brother) stayed behind in Drogheda - I met him in the late 60's on a visit with my late husband. My husband always had his summer holidays in Drogheda and with other relatives near Dundalk.
I found the death of Henry Joseph in 1918 age 23 and know that is one of Henry/Catherine's children.
This is my late husbands family which I am trying to put together for our children.

Hi
I have Margaret Mary Carson born 4 May 1892 to Oliver Carson/Mary Murphy Bury St Thomas, Lancashire. The family are in the 1901 UK Census for Lancashire.
Margaret married Patrick Byrne Jul-Sept 1919 Toxteth Park, Lancashire. Patrick Byrne was son of John Byrne/Mary Leahy, Drogheda, Co Louth.
I think these births are their children:
Joseph D. 1926 Drogheda
Mary I. 1930 Drogheda
Christina P. 1934 Drogheda
Hope this is of help to you. If anyone can help me with any information regarding this family I would be very grateful.
Sincerely
Joan Earls
