Title: confused...
Post by: WHATATREE on Tuesday 07 June 11 21:36 BST (UK)
Hi
I hope somebody can shed some light... I always thought and had been told
My Grandfather Robert Boustead served with RNF during ww2
but on a recent search through old family papers and marriage certs etc
marriage cert and soldiers service pay book states he was a sapper in the
Royal Engineers no 4279184
could anyone point me any direction to find out what he did during the war
or did he move regiments any info would be a great help!!
Thanks for reading!
Andrea

His No. is one allocated to the R.N.F. but it looks as though he was transfered to the Royal Engineers.
He kept his original No. which was usual.

What I would do is to apply for his Service Records. There is information on the Forum as to who and when this can be done.

Andrea there are published lists of Nos. allocated to various Units.
The ones for R.N.F. start at 4256001 and finish 4334000.
