Title: Looking for Domenico
Post by: Greenealogist on Wednesday 22 June 11 20:31 BST (UK)
Domenico Rasini is a bit of a puzzler. An immigrant from Italy, he first turns up marrying Edith Pocock in 1914, and they have a daughter, also called Edith, in 1923. His wife died the following year and Domenico dies in 1935?, but I can't locate the death record at the moment. Supposedly, Domenico was from Northern Italy and was a relative of the famous composer, Rossini, but I take that with a rather hefty pinch of salt. Also, he was supposedly already married but left his wife behind, if that's of any help. I'm really at a loss here, so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Turns up where? where did Edith die?

Holborn Registration District. That's where everything I've found about them occurs. I forgot this in the first one, he married again in 1927 to a Florence Pocock, who I think is some relation of Edith's. Thanks for the swift reply.

The 1927 marriage actually took place in Holbeach-

The plot thickens:
Holborn, Jun Qtr 1915:
Rossini Desolina Spouse's suname: Secchi
Secchi Giovanni Spouse's surname: Rossini
Also on that page
Rossini Rosa Spouse's surname: Festa
Festa Gioacchino Spouse's surname: Rossini

Ohho, Julie W, that's brilliant. I've been searching for him for several months and I didn't see that, relying on my informant's information. The probate's very useful too, lots to print.

Hello, I am a direct deccendant of Domenico. When his wife died, (Edith), his next wife was her sister, Florence Pocock, who I used to visit in London, at the adress you mentioned. They then had another daughter, who is still alive. The children from his marraige to Eidth are all deceased. I am unaware why his estate was not left to his wife, and assume that Desolina Lucia Emerlinda Secchi is one of his relations. Any more information is gratefully recieved.

Desolina Secchi applied for probate of his Will (perhaps he chose her as an executor) but that doesn't mean that she inherited anything from Domenico.
