Title: School at Southwell
Post by: brianz on Friday 24 June 11 18:30 BST (UK)
Does anyone know of a boarding School run by a family called ROLFE in West Gate Southwell in the period 1871 to 1881, I have a Grand Aunt that was a boarder there and went on to become a Teacher.

1881 census ref RG11 P3368 f9 page 12  (Agnes Hannam b 1861 Retford Nottingham)

Thanks  Steve

Hi steve, the 1871 census has the school next to the Reindeer public House. This is 26, Westgate. The 1871 goes from the school on Westgate to Moor lane, almost opposite the house next to the Reindeer.
Google Earth has good coverage of 26, Westgate and the house to the left.
