Title: Duffy women, 1790s?
Post by: Lisa in California on Sunday 10 July 11 21:58 BST (UK)
Margaret Flood was born c1844, County Clare.
Margaret's parents were: Mark Flood, a wheelwright and Jane Duffy.
Margaret married Patrick Tierney in Dundee, Scotland 17 May 1869.  Margaret's parents were list as deceased.

In 1870, the Tierney's were living in the states with:
1870 Lansingburgh, Rensselaer, New York (20 June 1870)
Duffy, Catherine, age 75, born Ireland
Duffy, Margaret, age 73, born Ireland
Tierney, Patrick, age 31, born Ireland, Labourer
Tierney, Margaret, age 35 born Ireland
Tierney, Mary age 3/12 (March), born New York

I am wondering if there might be any information to be found about Jane Duffy, or Catherine and Margaret Duffy in Ireland (or Scotland), please?  I don't know anything further about Mark Flood, but at this point, I am more curious about who Catherine and Margaret may have been.

Any guidance or help would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.  ;)

Hi Shane:

Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the Flood or the Duffy families.  Margaret Flood (born c1844) died c1878 and my mother-in-law didn't know anything about Margaret's parents (and very little about Margaret!).

Thank you for the links; I will check them out now.  Thank you as well for reading my thread.  :)
