Hi everyone,
I am trying to locate the death of Rudolph Philip KRETSCHMAR.
He married my Great-great-great grandmother Ellen ISHERWOOD in 1893. She passed away in 1898 and he went on to marry two more times.
Jane BUTLER in 1900 and Sarah Jane WANSTALL in 1906.
I know he had a daughter Violet Grace born 1900 and an illegitimate child born 1904.
I can track him until 1906 but then he seems to disappear.
I searched the deaths microfiche at the library but I was unable to find him.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Cannot see him on Electoral Rolls after 1905-1906 when he was in Palmerston North as a carpenter. No wife shown. Maybe he went overseas?
Only 7 people with that surname in white pages - might be worthwhile trying to contact a living family member to see if they can help ???

There were some name matches for this man in US records, but probably just a coincidence..if all else fails it may may to look there

Do you know what happened to the children, and to Sarah Jane?
Are there parents/siblings of Rudolph who died in NZ after 1906? (they might have left obituaries that mention him).

Thank you all for your replies.
I have not been able to find his 3rd wife Sarah.
Violet Grace died 1968 and is buried at Waikumete Cemetery.
Rudolphs parents were CHRISTIAN FRIEDRICK KRETSCHMAR and JOHANNA SOPHIA DOROTHEA. Johanna died 1917 so it is possible he is mentioned in the death notice(if there is one).

Just to further complicate matters - Christian Fredrick Kretchsmar was my great great great grandfather - with Dorothea being my great great great grandmother. I have managed to track them from Hamburg Germany via Tasmania, to Auckland. My great great grandfather WIlliam had a son, Herman = this section of the family then left for Australia, stayed for a while in Mordialloc Victoria, before moving west to Cottesloe and then Geraldton Western Australia. Herman died at Gallipoli in 1915 leaving 5 children. I am slowly reconstructing the family tree. I hadn't heard of a Rudolph - however I do know that Christian Fredrick had one male child that I haven't tracked down yet - he was born in 1864 - if I find out anything else I will let you know Belindy. Janette - I had tracked down the grave site info - but if I could beg a favour I would dearly love a picture of the headstones - my mum and I have been to New Zealand but never tracked down the gravesites - a picture would make her day - cheers Liz

:D Thanks Janette - you're a star. I am actually meeting a relative of Rudolphs next week here in Perth. His great nephew - Peter Kretchmar. Peter's father Alfred, was brother to my Great grandfather Edmund. Edmund's father WIlliam was Rudolph's older brother and Christian Fredrick's first born son. Peter is 82 - but a real chipper bloke - he has some photos - can't wait to see what he has - cheers Liz

Hi there! I also found out what happened. Hopefully it’s the same as you! He went to Australia in 1906 and died in Sydney, NSW in 1921. His name was different which made the search difficult. I’ve attached a copy of the record I found online and the picture of the headstone which a lovely person sent me from Billiongraves.

That is the same information I have. I am descended fro William Herman Kretchmar who was Rudolph Philip's oldest brother and my gggrandfather
