Hi looks like she is a Brumpton in 1901 Census ref RG13/3099/6/3
That was a possible conclusion that I had just reached.
Do we really know who her mother was in 1891, or was that just guesswork?
Regarding "her sister" have you seen this *submitted* IGI entry? http://tinyurl.com/3o7efkz
Of course, the alleged marriage for this couple ...
Marriages Jun 1883
BRUMPTON Ann Elizabeth Caistor 7a 1257
PROCTOR John William Caistor 7a 1257
... seems a trifle early for a woman aged 20 in 1891. :-\
Ah, she was also 20 in 1881 http://tinyurl.com/3b5qb2b
and between 1881 and 1891
Charles has aged from 14 to 18
John aged from 11 to 16.

Hi
I am sorry but posted the wrong name it is Sophia Hannah Procter b1897 freeBMD confirmed
the mother looks bad in the 1891 census but the dates were a bit amiss on that census.
I have altered the original post to correct it
The mother Anne Elizabeth Brumpton was born in 1862 FreeBMD confirmed and not 1870 according to that census. I have got Harriet Brumpton who had two illigitamate children and never married.
I was just guesswork in assuming on that census that Anne was the mother of the two girls but after all that I am still wondering where she went.
Thank you for your kind help

Hi Ian, still confused is this Ann Elizabeth Proctor in 1901?
Ann Elizabeth Proctor Widow 40 b Osgodby
Harriett 10 b Market Rasen
Plus lodger Ernest Harrington
Residing at 3, Brooke's Yard, Market Rasen
Census ref RG13/3099/7/5
When did this lady become a Proctor?
Have you birth cert of a Sophia b 1897?

Yes Keyboard86 she was a widow and married a Tinker later though did not have any children with him and Harriet Proctor married my friends grandfather
Sophia Hannah Proctor was never mentioned in the family
Anne Elizabeth Brumpton married John William Proctor 1853-1899 in June 1883
It looks like we may have to get a BC for Sophia but it still does not resolve where she went to after 1891

Hi Ian, so who is the Sophie with Mother/Sister with Grandfather in 1891?
See also the reply from Geoff above and my 1901 Sophia?

Hi Keyboard86
The Mystery deepens I checked Sophia Brumpton on freeBMD with no results and just realised something (hard at my age) ;O)
Where Sophia was is in 1901, The Yarborough Arms is where John William Proctor was a boarder and working in 1891.
Why did she change her name? she was registered as a Proctor if it is her.

I will complete this query, as after checking Sophia Brumpton on freeBMD and the 1891 census I did not get any results for her so will presume that she is indeed Sophia Hannah Proctor and was slipping beneath the radar and presumeably will never be found.
Thanks all who helped me come to this conclusion

Hi Ian, ? Why will she never be found, her birth cert will leave a trail, where was she 1911 census?

Hi Keyboard86
If she is using another name or got married using another name then their is no chance if she wanted to get lost.
Not found her in 1911 and IGI have two results both including her parents for her christening
23 Oct 1885 & 23 Oct 1895 I have lost enough sleep over her and life is to short

You apparently have access to the 1911 census ... there is an intriguing Sophia TROOP 24 Market Rasen (with "husband" George). I can see no marriage for this couple but there are birth registrations that may be of interest-
Births Dec 1913
TROOP William H (Proctor) Caistor 7a 1204
Births Mar 1918
TROOP Clara (Proctor) Gainsbro 7a 1062
and
Deaths Mar 1922
TROOP Sophia (36) Gainsbro 7a 997
NB: George TROOP was born in Gainsborough :)

Thank you sooooo very much Geoff-E
I think that you have cracked it according to the births her name was proctor and the first birth registered in caistor was presumably market rasen it would be well worth getting that BC
You have made an old man very happy
Thanks Again
Ian
