Title: COMPLETED Thanks - Tynevale Terrace, Gateshead c1902
Post by: Colin Cruddace on Saturday 06 August 11 23:09 BST (UK)
Hello All,

Can anyone help with locating this place. I have a vague recollection of finding it a few years ago in the Bensham area and it consisted of only a few houses, but try as I might I can't find it again.

My Gt Granddad lived at No 3 but died there of TB in 1902. He was a Clerk for NER so it would make sense for it to be near Station.

EDIT: Should have mentioned that he is not there in the 1901 census, he was at East Boldon.

Google maps has  3 Tynevale Terrace Newburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE15 8, UK
which is about 7 miles from Gateshead and is a short row of terrace houses.

Then there is 3 Tyne Vale Terrace Dunston, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear NE8 2XY, UK

(Tyne and Vale being two separate words)  These houses look a bit more up market ;)  and are close to Bensham

Thanks for that Crisane.

The Dunstan one is obviously the right one but Google streetview insists on calling it Bensham Crescent. I think I must have found it originally on Google Earth, or that's my best excuse  ;D

I feel a trip coming on in a day or two. Thanks for the help.
