I believe that my Great, Great, Great Grandparents are buried in York Road Cemetery, Church Gresley:
SAMUEL SMITH Born 1810
Died 20 Mar 1883
Buried 25 Mar 1883
RUTH SMITH (Nee Wardle) Born 1814
Died 30 Jan 1890
May be buried with him.
Although I am originally from Derby, I now live in Hampshire and have never actually visited Church Gresley and do not know how big this cemetery is. I wondered if someone was passing by, if they might have a look around for this grave for me? If this is a huge place, then I certainly do not expect anyone to spend hours looking, but any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

Hi, if you go to Derbyshire BMD and follow the drop-down boxes your relatives details are documented. It says they are buried on ' general ground', I will find out which section this is as some years ago most of the older stones were moved closer together.

Thank you Ash, I'll have a look. I wonder if 'General Ground' indicates that there were no headstones?

Hi Ian,
I've just come across your post (a few year's on) after doing some family history myself!
Just following on from what Ash said, if you go to http://www.southderbyshirebdm.co.uk/Church_Gresley/York_Road/yrkrdburs.html you can see Ruth and Samuel Smith on that website. It tells you that Ruth's grave number is 772 and Samuel's is 861. It also tells you some interesting information e.g. birthday's about them
If you then go to the top of the website to "what's on?" and then down to York Road Cemetery, you'll see a grave plan (excel spreadsheet). If you click on it, you can search for 772 and 861 (there are a few though so don't give up - I saw them and they are close to each other as you thought they might be!)
How to access the cemetery map was given to me by a helpful and friendly man called Colin at southderbyshirebdm@yahoo.co.uk so all credit to him really when I was doing my research.
Hope it helps,
From Mike
