Title: KASSELL, All
Post by: Samueller on Saturday 03 September 11 20:59 BST (UK)
I have a family tree of all the KASSELL descendants (pre 1911) of James KASSELL of Goole, born ca 1800, married Sarah CAWOOD 1825, died 1845.  Mostly Yorkshire but also South Shields and Barrow-in-Furness.  Am willing to share with anyone interested.

hi, have just come across your post. I believe James married Sarah Raywood, not Cawood, Sarah was my gt gt gt gt aunt, but I have little information on this branch of the family. I've not got my files out at the moment but if you need any info, I will gladly look

Hi little h,
I am away from home at the moment, so no access to my Kassell files, but will respond ASAP.  I have data on just about all Kassells up to 191.

Greetings,
The KASSELL tree has a twist to it. The CAWOOD link appears to be valid; however the KAYWOOD / RAYWOOD link is a source of confusion.
I would appreciate any help out there on resolving this conundrum.
What I have is as follows:
1) James KASSELL (1800-1845) married Sarah CAWOOD (1805-1863) in 1825.
2)His son Henry KASSELL (1830-1877) married Elizabeth KAYWOOD / RAYWOOD (1832 -1917) in 1855.
The CAWOOD link appears to be good as a grandchild of James through his son John KASSELL (1841-after 1911), namely Lewen Cawood KASSELL carries the ancestral link to CAWOOD.
Any validation of the correct KAYWOOD / RAWOOD interpretation would be appreciated. A number of family trees in Ancestry refer to RAYWOOD as a preference.
Of course any contributions such as the branches themselves would also help.
