Title: Hughes Family

I have a William Lewis Hughes born 1948  broughton, Denbighshire. His father was Edward Hughes born 1805 could anyone tell me who was Williams Wife and also his Mother and any other info on the Hughes Family from Broughton.  Thanks

Well the first thing is that he married a Sarah Ann Burndred at Stoke-on-Trent-Oct/Nov/Dec quarter 1875,6b page357.

It seems Sarah Ann was his second wife,he first married a Mary Ann Dodd at Wrexham in 1866.Mary Ann died in 1874.Trees on A******* have his mother as a Mary Parry.

The same Trees that I mentioned do have his father as Edward Hughes.Which Cemetery are you referring to?

If he was Church, then the baptisms , marriages. deaths, will be at St Giles, Wrexham, Brymbo was covered by Wrexham parish back then.

Clwyd FHS have done transcriptions for St Giles that cover that time.
Genuki will give you some guidelines.

My family were also Hughes from Brymbo / Broughton, they don`t seem to be linked to yours, and beleve me there are lots of them around.  ::)

This site has MI`s  for some Brymbo Churches, but if your people didn`t have headstones, they will not be listed.
