Title: SNOOK - Urchfont pre 1700
Post by: Tony - Australia on Saturday 08 October 11 07:40 BST (UK)
I am researching the Snook family and have gone back as far as Vincent Snook, B. about 1680, married to Elizabeth ( Unknown) B. about the same time.  Both from Urchfont Wiltshire.  They had a son Thomas, B. 19.01.1705, D. 1732 who married Elizabeth (Cluff) B 1706, D 15.11 1784.

I am looking form any ancestors going back from here.

Hi Tony,

There is a marriage Licence Bond

Thomas SNOOKE husband man of Urchfont and Elizabeth CLUFT  of Urchfont dated 20 Nov 1725 marriage to take place Devizes/Urchfont/Coulston  bondsman John SEABORNE gentleman of Urchfont.

I am a little confused.  ???

I see the baptism for a Thomas SNOOKE 19 Jan 1704 parents Thomas and Jane (The Calander at that time made the year 1704 not 1705.)

Thomas SNOOKE= Jane CROOKE 29 Aug 1698 Urchfont

Thomas and Jane also had

Vincent SNOOK 10 Jan 1698 (again this date was after marriage not before)
Thomas SNOOKE 6 Feb 1701 buried 11 Feb 1702
Robert SNOOK 22 Feb 1702 buried 2 Mar 1703
Elizabeth SNOOK 19 Sep 1707
Robert SNOOKE 6 Jul 1709
William SNOOK 30 Mar 1712

Cheers Kris  :)

Ada Ursula Snook married John Beaven in 1880 and thats how Snook's related to me (Beaven) Using a website called FamilySearch I am making my family tree and it filled in a ton of people all the way upto the people you mentioned. Vincent Snook and Elizabeth. Theres a chance his wife surname was either Gould or Clarke (maybe neither but I think they might be a small chance!) Let me know if you have made any progress and I assume you are related to the snook's so you are losely related to me! Wish you luck!
