Post by: weemalla on Wednesday 12 October 11 23:03 BST (UK)
Can anyone tell me what DBNS Hospital is? It was mentioned in the SA Advertiser 29 Jan 1948 in a birth notice for a Briscoe, and i cant work out what DBNS means. Your help is appreciated

Weemalla unless you have information to the contrary ie the person is deceased, I would suggest you remove the the name on your request.  District Bush Nuring Hospital, Tailem Bend, SA.

Cheers

Appreciate this is an old post, but I was wondering this myself (rellie born there 1946) and found this thread after a websearch.  The Posts were very helpful.  Full name seems to be: District and Bush Nursing Society of South Australia.  Here's a link to the Annual Report at the time: http://www.catalog.slsa.sa.gov.au:80/record=b1099010~S1.
