I am researching the Castleisland Ambush on 10 Jul 1921

It is difficult to get information as it was hours before the Truce and neither side really said too much about it

Basically a patrol of about 20 North Lancs soldiers on curfew patrol were attacked by a IRA squad. At the end of the action 4 IRA and 4 British were dead.

I would like to try to fill in some of the details

Thanks, but all that does is tell me what I get by typing "Castleisland 1921" into Google, that is links to Wikipedia.

What I am looking for is probably a local book/memoir that gives specific details of the ambush

I was looking up Castleisland 1921 and your name came up, I have a ten page doucment on one mans account of the trobules from 1915/1921, & on the last too pages there is a bit about the Castleisland ambush. I was trying to send it to you by Email but it wouldn't let me?
