I am looking to find a photograph of a pub called 'the angel inn' in Birkenhead. It is no longer there but is where the new conway park train station now is.
It was there in the 1990's but on it's own with all of the surrounding buildings demolished. My dad was born in the house which joined onto it in 1946, which was in Camden Street.
Anyone know where I might find an old photo?

sara, the Local Studies library nearest there may have a pic. Worth asking.

thanks - I do need to go to Birkenhead library, might they have photoss of pubs or particular streets?
At the least I would like a map.
I do have the street on a bad quality cine film - but want a photo for a family history book ;D

It's certainly worth asking if they have a photo of that street etc. Some of the libraries are amazing in what they have collected and filed away.
Ask away ;D and let us know how you get on please.

Strange what you can find on Rootschat! I'm currently researching Daniel Henry Whalley who was the landlord when he died there in 1876 aged 29.
