Title: Rudolph KLANG of Ardrossan
Post by: Ataturk05 on Sunday 22 January 12 23:44 GMT (UK)
In March 1872 Rudolph Klang married Catherine George.  They had a daughter Amelia (born Dec 1873).  After a few years they moved to Belfast where Amelia married John Henry Bush.

If anyone could provide help in identifying the parents/grandparents of Rudolph or Catherine, it would be really appreciated.

Thanks Carole.

Unfortunately the names aren't very clear - but hopefully it will give me a 'chance' at identifying the parents.

Hi Ataturk05

If the names are not clear because writing is faint or illegible, you can always contact SP and ask for an enhanced section of the image to be sent to you via email. They are very quick to respond to this type of query. See www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/help/index.aspx?r=1210

Hi,

I have recently been doing my family tree and I have found that Rudolph Klang is my great great great grandfather. Through another family tree, I believe his father was called Charles Klang but that’s where I hit a dead end. I was just wondering if you were able to find out any more about their parents? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Louise

Hi, don't  know if you are aware that Catherine George was previously married to a John Cosgrove. They married in Ardrossan 1860 and John died there 1870. Catherine's 1888 death is listed under all three names,Klang, George and Cosgorve.
Looks like they  may have had 5 children, Catherine 1861
                                             James 1864
                                             William George 1867
                                             Mary 1869
These 4 births are on SP. The '71 census shows a Margaret aged 1 who may or may not have been Mary.

Thank you so much for your replies! Merryhow that’s great to get some extra dates! Ataturk sorry it wouldn’t let me send a personal message back. Rudolph and Catherine’s daughter had Amelia Bush and she had Amelia Mason who then had Jane Carmichael who is my nanny. How is your wife related? I found that Catherine Cosgrove parents were called William George and Catherine George and her maiden name was Hannan but that’s as far as I’ve got. Rudolph Klang and Catherine Cosgrove’s marriage certificate gave me some of that information. I think she was born in Perth, Scotland according to the 1841 census in which she was 1. I find it so interesting finding missing pieces of the puzzle!
