Hi
Hope someone can help me!
is there a way of checking who was living at this address from April 1944 to November 1945?
Jackson Hetherington b. 4/10/1916 served in RCAF, whilst stationed in the UK married Leone(Lee) McDermott in 1943. Jackson was posted back to Canda 18/4/1944, arriving 26/4/1944.
He was discharged from the Air Force on the 24/7/1944. His discharge address given as 130 Centre Street, St Thomas.
We believe Leone(Lee) spent time in Canada with him, before returning to the UK alone sometime in 1945
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi sunscreen,
You can contact the city hall and they have all the deeds for the city lots I would think so the property owner would be shown.

Hi again sunscreen,
I went on the online whitepages website and typed in
Jackson Hetherington and there weren't any Hetheringtons in St Thomas but there were quite a few in the surrounding towns ie. London Ontario. Here is the link:

I am wondering if any are rellies :-) Worth checking out

Hi Sunscreen,
Not sure if you live in that area or not - perhaps a few snail mail or phone queries might be in order :-) I was expecting to see Jackson in phone listing, but thought there might have been descendants still living in St T. London is within commuting distance and so is Tillsonburg and other towns between. Just a suggestion.

Hi
I live in West Yorkshire, England.
I think it was Jackson's Parents address William John & Ione, but not sure. He would only be at this address from 26/4/1944 until 15/11/1945 as we have him crossing the border to the US on the 15/11/45. He died 1976 in the US.
Our puzzle is whether his wife Leone actually was in Canada and lived with him during this time; we know She was back in the UK by 3/1/1946 as she gave birth to me! They both later remarried and Leone died here in 1996. She took one or two 'secrets' with her!
There was also a brother Malcolm who died in 1972 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetry
Thanks again for your interest

Hi Sunscreen,
I have a friend that lives near St T. I will ask him if he will do some queries for you and perhaps take a picture of the address. If he is unavailable to do so I will be travelling there myself in late spring and then I can do that then when I'm visiting family in the area :-) You may have to send me a reminder though - my seniors' moments are getting more frequent...lol
A couple more questions for you. Did Jackson move to Canada/St Thomas with his parents and did they stay? Who purchased the home - parents or Jackson & Leone? Did his brother Malcolm go to St T as well? Which Elmwood Cemetery are you refering to - in St T? Sorry for so many questions, but getting answers for them may help in answering yours :-)
Cheers, JDC

Hi again sunshine,
I googled the St Thomas address and you can see the home they lived in. It has since turned into a commercial place since. Here is the link:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&cp=24&gs_id=22&xhr=t&q=130+centre+st+st+thomas&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1280&bih=617&wrapid=tljp1328123041034048&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x882e5e678204d7e5:0xa627ec2edeb4d03c,130+Centre+St,+St+Thomas,+ON+N5R+2Z7&gl=ca&ei=tYwpT-zCDeT40gGI-MmyAg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&sqi=2&ved=0CB4Q8gEwAA
Click on the picture and your should be able to move it around to see the biulding on the corner - that is 130 Centre.
Coincidently, this place is close to where my g-grandmother lived after my g-grandfather passed - just a few short blocks away :-)
Cheers again,
JDC

Hi Sunscreen,
I haven't forgotten you, I'm still attempting to call my buddie regarding your Jackson family in St T.. Guess we are playing telephone tag :-( Anyway, it does sound like Leone/Lee is a war bride. Here is a link that may be useful for you: http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/history/secondwar/warbrides.
Hoping this helps.
