Hi I have just checked sp and there are 'nt any listed for Kirkcudbright or Dumfries for the years 1816 though 1822 is it the parish of Kelton or the town as they are different places ?
-
Thanks for your help
The info i have came from census returns which are a bit vague at times
They all state Kelton. Kirkcudbrightshire
Parents Possible James Maltman, [bn Buittle Kbt] and Margaret [bm Kelton Kbt]
Thanks again Eddie

Hi have you tried looking on Scotlands People at there census records as you get a copy and it gives the relationship to members in the same household there are some listed in kelton in the 1851 census as I just checked on the free search but you have to pay a small fee to see all the info and a copy of the original might be worth a try
best of luck Druid

Eddie, I have been researching the Maltmans for some time. I am decended from Alexander Maltman. His daughter Wilhelmina is my 2x greatgrandmother. Robert, William and Alexander were brothers. They had a sister Susan, no info on her and also I think a sister Jane who married a Thomas Gordon in Kirkcudnright. I have to confirm her details and I'm a bit stuck with her after 1861. Pogue

My Great Grandmother, Margaret (b.1899 Borgue) was a Maltman directly descended from Alexander Maltman and Jane Bennet. Many of the names mentioned here are in my records. I will happily share the details I have so far if it would be useful.
