Hello,
could somebody check a Hoddam MI for me please
I'm looking for an Agnes Kennedy or Rae maiden surname Moffat
her husband should be William Kennedy who died before 1841 I think
She born about 1769 and died about 1847, I think she might be on "Hoddom Monumental Inscriptions Nr 186"
I'd be keen to find anything else on the stone, as the Clan Moffat website claims her father was James Moffat 1721-1821 (ie 100 years old) and give her a different husband (a George Rae) to William Kennedy I expected.
the clan moffat page is available at http://genealogy.clanmoffat.org/getperson.php?personID=I9236&tree=UKEire
looks like it could be useful, for some
best wishes

I know this message goes back quite a while, but hopefully it will help.
Have looked at the Hoddam MI's and the this is all I can find.
186
George Rae who died in Ecclefechan 25th September 1830 in the 75th year of his age also Agnes Moffat his spouse who doed 6th May 1847 in the 80th year of her age and Grace daughter of John Rae in Ecclefechan who died 17th January 1841 aged 10 days. (Post 1855) With Post 1855- there are possibly other inscriptions on the headstone.

There may be a connection with my Moffat family tree.
My 4x G Grandfather was James MOFFAT b. 1721 and married abt. 1759 to a Catherine DALGLEISH b. 1733
They had four daughters and four sons. Agnes MOFFAT b. 1769. A son William MOFFAT b. 1772 – my 3x G Grandfather.

Thought there maybe a link :)
So, your 3x Great Grandmother Agnes and my 3x Great Grandfather William were brother and sister.
I can't seem to get any further back with either James Moffat or Catherine Dalgleish. Any information on Catherine would be very much appreciated.
Would like to find my 3x Grandparents William Moffat and Christina Moffat (nee Fraser) death details & burial place. Sadly there are no death records for Annan before 1855. They had a son James who died Annan - 1857 and his death entry states William & Christina were deceased. That's all I have.
I wonder if they moved from the Annan area, would just like closure for them.
