Hi
Sorry, but do not have marriage details, but from the baptism records; was their first child Elizabeth Ann, baptised at All SAINTS on 7th Jan 1835.
They usually baptised children within the first month, so its quite possible she was born in Dec 1834
I noticed they had a further 9 children and that William was a Whitesmith - but twice he was listed just as smith, and once as a Blacksmith

Hi
I have only found 7 children.
I have Henry cr Mar 1836 as earliest. Edward c1840, William c1842
Ann c1843 being my husband's Great Great Grandmother, Charlotte c1847, Eliza c1850
and Joseph 1851.
Going by the Christening dates and ages on Census. William and Ann did not rush to get their children baptised.
Thank you for your time

Hello Reyz
The only marriage on the Sussex Marriage Index for the right time frame for a William Collins & Ann was at Fairlight.
William Collins & Ann Lloyd,11 Feb 1834.There were no Collins children Baptised there.
It maybe worth buying Charlotte`s birth Cert.

Hello Omega 1
Many thanks for that! Interesting, Lloyd sounds Welsh :)
Ann COLLINS is my husbands Great Great Grandmother, but the way I have written it does suggest
Charlotte. I shall edit it.
I hope to get a birth certificate soon and I have the details.
Thank you and 1066land again
best wishes

There is this marriage in Herstmonceaux. Quite a few LLOYD marriages on the SMI.
From the Sussex Marriage Index
Herstmonceux, East Sussex, 21 Sep 1798
Edward LLOYD
Elizabeth PARKER
There is another marriage in Fairlight, in 1832, of a Sarah LOYDE to a Benjamin ANSCOMB.
Familysearch has a few baptisms at Herstmonceaux 1799-1814, with Edward and Elizabeth as parents. One of those is a Sarah on 13 Jan 1799. A few gaps so there could be an Ann in the registers as well.
In 1851 Sarah and Benj. ANSCOMB are at St Mary in The Castle at Hastings. They have a 5 year old niece with them, Elizabeth COLLINS - HO107/1635/461/44. This would fit with the Elizabeth bapt 1845, plus also she is not with her parents in 1851.
That would just about confirm that William COLLINS married Ann LLOYD, the one that Omega found. The birth certificate would confirm that though. William and Ann named one of their sons Edward also.

Many thanks for this information.
:)
Ann must have gone off on her own as she married in Middlesex.
