Im looking of a marriage between Mary Jane Gordon and John William Johnstone, pre 1874 or the birth of a son also called John William on 17th August 1874. All in Perth according to his NZ marriage certificate. It states the boys father was a Gentleman,

The only John Johnstone registered in Perth in 1874 was born 20th Dec 1873 to
Robert Johnstone and Elizabeth Martin at 36 west mill street Perth.
The only Johnston* Gordon marriage I could find between 1865 to 1880 was
1 1878 JOHNSTONE JOHN GORDON MARY TROQUEER /KIRKCUDBRIGHT 882/00 0012

I saw your post and wonder if you can help me.
My mums mother was Flora Jean Gordon and Flora's mother was Sarah Mary Ann Gordon, and her dad was John William Johnstone Gordon. My mother grew up in Stratford Taranaki NZ and am trying to trace her heritage.
Do you think we are talking about the same person.
My mum was born around 1935.
