Does anyone know who the Anne Butcher was who married Thomas Corfield in St James, Cardington in 1813? Was she related to Richard Butcher of Cardington?
Thanks

The entry for that marriage on familysearch.org seems like it might ahve come from a submitted pedigree, so you would need to try and find the primary source to confirm it anyway. If you go into the link on family search to the pedigree resource file (for either Thomas Corfield or Ann Butcher) they refer to a history on the Corfield family
The Corfields: A history of the Corfields from 1180 to the present day Justin J Corfield ISBN 0646143336
Might be worth trying to get hold of that and see if it sheds any more light on things.

Thank you, I'll try and get the book.

Hi julie64 - No I didn't and I'm none the wiser!

I have a couple of Corfields in my tree. Your two are listed (line 25) page 17 in the Corfield family tree, the .pdf version http://corfield.port5.com/ However it does not give any further info about her.
Best of luck

At least now you know who her mother was: Elizabeth Jones of Bowdler born c1770. Back then in Shropshire (and perhaps elsewhere) daughters often took the maiden name of their mother after their father died, hence she calls herself Jones not Butcher!

Wow! Thank you so much everybody - I really appreciate everyone's help. Someone has told me that Shropshire records are on FindMyPast so perhaps I ought to join!
