Title: Clygaan
Post by: Erin2012 on Monday 02 April 12 11:08 BST (UK)
I got the marriage certificate from Roscommon on Friday and am having some trouble locating the residence.

Peter Kane and Ellen Ledwith married in 1885 at the Chapel of Legan but her residence is Clygaan.... I imagine itīs very close to Legan but just cant find it anywhere.

Any ideas?

maybe Clynan ?  see next reply

It's in Forgney Civil Parish and the right Registration District (PLU) i.e. Ballymahon. You can check townlands in  http://www.thecore.com/seanruad Enter Ballymahon  as the Poor Law Union and nothing else - and click search

Legan village and the RC chapel are in the townland of Smithfield. Clygeen townland is immediately north of this.
