Wonder if anyone can help.
I have the marriage certificate in French of Joseph Junilion & Ann Lenox from St Patrick's RC Cathedral, Halifax, N.S. 12/10/1814 giving their parents as Louis Junilion & Marie Dubois of Paris, France and Charles & Jeanne Lenox of Halifax. The brides brother Charles Lenox was a witness.
The surname is variously spelled as Junilion, Julian & De Junio.
Of their children Jean was bap. St Patrick's 7/10 bur. there 10/10/1817. Another daughter Mary Jean (called Jane) was my 2 x gt grandmother and born Halifax about 1821. Their was a brother John Joseph who marr. Catherine Gordon, St Patrick's 4/2/1845.
I have recently found another 2 brothers Maximilian Junio (b. Halifax 1829) & Joseph Junio (b. Halifax 1822), cigar makers, in Massachusetts (Family Search). Maximilian's death cert. states his parents were Ann Lennox & Louis Junio (of France), so they are fairly certainly brothers of Mary Jean, although Louis was a mistake?. They all seemed to live in or around Charlestown, Mass. There is also a Louis Junio born ca. 1829 died Charlestown 1905 who was another possible brother???
Can anyone suggest where I can contact/search for the R.C. births of these children in Halifax. There is nothing on-line to help.
Thanks,
Craig

I think the records that youare searching may be at the Nova Scotia Archives
www.gov.ns.ca/nsarm/
http://gov.ns.ca/nsarm/virtual/churches/exploring.asp
As far as I know they won't be available online but if you contact the archives they may be able to help you.
Also the Halifax Public Library has a genealogy section and they may know where to look for the records.

Hello Craig
Mary Jean Jullion de Junio cropped up in my family tree today. She was born in 1821 Halifax Nova Scotia and died 8 September 1888 Stirling Scotland. She is my great great great grandmother on my mother's side
She gave birth to my mothers great grandmother (same name) Agnes McBeath (or McBeth) while at sea on 10 January 1847 . This is a big surprise to me. Did you get anywhere with your research? I would be grateful to hear what you might know.
I was born in Edinburgh

Hi George, Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you re your message of last month. I haven't been on Rootschat for a while but I think you can contact me via my e-mail address by sending me a personal message on this site. I'll have a look and see how I can also do that from this end. Whoever manages first...??? It would be good to chat with you. Craig ;

Hi Gillian,
Yes i did get a reply and I have given him my contact details.
I think I may have sent you a message - some time ago? - your surname is very familiar (or I may be confused with someone else?)
I was keen to speak to Craig and have been following his various informative posts.
I am intrigued - you say your mother has been busy as well?
Thanks for contacting me. I appreciate it.
