john webb was in 1871 cencus at ditcheat and stayed in that area later we dont know where he was in middle years we think he married twice dont know who first wife was he was about 40 when he married his wife ellen

they had a son albert 1894 so around that time ellen came from henton somerset i suposed they married ? but we always thought he was married before thankyou for your help

I think the enumerator didn't understand the Somerset pronunciation of Ditcheat?!
Or, as John might have said: Thee casnt talk proper like wot I do do!!
Also, I think young John was born at Brent Knoll?

Hi again, Atchoo with all due resepect you had a considerable amount of information re John Webb, the birth place of Ellen and the year of birth of Albert, if you had informed us from the beginning I am certain the questions that have got us to the position we are at present would not have been needed, in the case of the marriage to Ellen, I am of the opinion that you are correct and it is indeed Ellen Barr who married your John Webb, whether the "other" marriage is correct is another matter!!
Is their any further information you are wishing to be located?

Achoo, as I and KGarrad have said unless you purchase the marriage certificate or someone obtains the record from the parish register you will never know if this is in fact the correct marriage, if in fact there was a previous marriage at all?!
