Title: Joseph Thomas Corkill Lace born 1911

Looking for parents of Joseph Thomas Corkill Lace.

He died Nottingham 1991 and Free BMD has his dob as 29 Nov 1911 and I believe he was born on the Isle of Man.

Any help appreciated.

Isle of Man births are not covered by FreeBMD!

Thanks for the advice - not really sure if J T C Lace was born in IOM and agreed his birth is not on Free BMD

That's just a title that hasn't been updated yet!

The Home Page tells you that an update was done in April 2012, to include the cvomplete index from 1877 to 1979.

Hello John, maybe muddying the water here -

On the manxbmd site there is the birth registration of a Thomas Joseph CORKILL (no lace) in the district of Douglas in 1901.

Volume A Page Number 1549

It also looks like the baptism for this child is on familysearch.

As far as I know freebmd only goes up to 1983.

John, just another thought, a marriage certificate for Joseph Thomas Corkill Lace may reveal his dad's name and that would narrow down the search.

Are you aware of this record?

Marriage in the September quarter of 1939
Joseph T C Lace to Jane Bearsley  Liverpool North  8b 949

Then there are 2 births that are possibilities for this couple in 1942 and 1945.

Sorry if you know all of this, you may have the marriage certificate already but for some reason the dad's name is not stated.
