What information do you have on this family so far?  Depending on the time frame of his arrival in the US, you may be able to find him on census records on www.familysearch.org, which also has some Ohio death records.

was Thomas knight married twice.....Myrtle Held and  lottie Bradshaw?
Title: Re: can anyone help
Post by: Genealiza on Monday 23 April 12 22:01 BST (UK)
Thomas and Myrtle (Sandra found their marriage record for 1922) Held are living with her mother in the 1930 census.

In 1920 census, Myrtle and Helen are living together and Helen is divorced from Jacob Held.  There is a death certificate for a Jacob Held, not 100% sure it's the right one, but he dies in 1916 and is a divorced painter.

Myrtle is a boarder in the home of a George A Vocke in the 1910 census.  She is a private music teacher, aged 21, and single.  I haven't found Helen Held in the 1910 census yet.

Also, a death or divorce of Myrtle Held Knight needs to be found and a marriage to Lottie Bradshaw found.

There seems to be another sibling--Frank, mentioned in Carrie's obituary.  He seems to be Frank Bryan Knight, b. March quarter 1884, Bosworth.  I don't have access to the UK censuses, but he seems to be in the same area as Edward and Thirza for the 1901 and 1911 census.  He may have married either Ellen Katherine Sanders, or Alice Sheen, in the March quarter of 1909.  You might look them up and see what kind of family profile is developed.

I've just gone through all the posts and fitted everyone in until I got to the chases....i need to find who this cousin Ann thirza moore was....

the only thing I know of the Moores is......Peter Moore born ashill norfolk and wife (my Great great Grandparents) had Louisa Moore (my great Grandmother) and Thurza...........Peter must have had more children then.

I have found a Annie Grace Moore born 1885 nuneaton......father Alfred, mother Grace

Looked at my records...Peter Moores farher was Frances Moore of Ashill Norfolk

Think this is going to take a bit of figuring out.

My cousin went to Ashill Norfolk last year and spoke to an historian there and he told her the Moore's seem to pop in and out of Ashill due to the crop seasons.

Title: Re: can anyone help
Post by: swampinstein on Wednesday 25 April 12 19:25 BST (UK)
Thurza's sister Louisa was born Staffordshire

??? think they may have travelled around.
I do know we have Romany gypsies in the family....Louisa's husband Frederick Elks came from Gypsies.....wondering if the Moores were gypsies too.....hence travelling around depending where the crops were....gypsies tended to do this seasonal work.

Ran across this birth certificate for Arthur Leslie Chase:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-23316-99788-37?cc=1932106

It lists Thirza Annie Moore Chase's birth as Nuncaton, Warwickshire, England

Don't know whether that helps or not.

Thank you for that :)

I think it should be Nuneaton not Nuncaton....that would tie in.
