Hi I was wondering can someone translate this document for me please.
-
Sorry, but it's really not legible. Could you post a better scan?
-
Thats the best i have
-
can you tellme where it is from? may help but i agree it isnt going to be easy if at all sorry
-
its on the 1901 cenuss of Ireland. Its the Landlords name im trying to get is there another way on doing this
-
its actually to close??? but i reckon you would be very lucky to work it out..do you have any idea whatsoever? maybe neighbours etc as all families back them seemed to live on top of each other, well in mine they did ??? not much help really sorry

The 1901 census is online (free) and if you give us the reference we can check ourselves to see what it might say.
-
Here is the link for the census and its number 20

Are you able to access the previous page? It might be clearer and the same landlord may appear.
It comes up a little clearer as a jpeg, but still not enough to read.
Could be Henry Something?
-
the previous page is wiped out also
-
page 1
-
My computer is throwing a hissy fit now.
I've tried looking at the pages for the surrounding roads to see if the same owner appears, but it has decided not to co-operate.
I've got the name a little clearer, and it looks like Henry or Mary and surname starting with a J.
Don't know if that's any help?
I'll try again later when this beast of a computer has had a rest!
-
I think it might be my grand fathers father thats why the name is marked out
-
If you are able, try turning it into a negative image. This sometimes reveals a bit more data.
-
It looks to me as if the first letter of the last name could be an S but that's about all. H
-
What was your grandfathers fathers name??? may be able to work it in a bit that way and yes a negative reader would be good also maybe a photographic light box, but i guess you would need the original to fiddle around with it that way. ???
-
I dont know that its not on his birth cert
-
The column that's so difficult to read is for the landlord and the line for Thomas Dignam read Do as do many of the others- the landlord for Thomas' property seems to be written out 2 lines above but is hightly unlike to be your great-grandfather.
