Hi would anyone know if someone died at Greenwich & District hospital as an inmate in 1891 does that mean it was a workhouse and is there a free site I can look at the list of inmates please Thanks

I think the inmates were Royal Navy & Marine pensioners, although don't quote me on that.

This doesn't go quite as far as 1891.

The 1891 reference ............ does it say "Greenwich Hospital" or "Greenwich Union Infirmary"?

That would be the workhouse infirmary then http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Greenwich/

I am not aware of any free records online for the infirmary apart from some census indexes ............. who are you looking for?

Thankyou I found her she was an inmate at the hospital but it also said domestic nurse so she must have been let out to work thanks anyway
