Title: Completed with thanks Hoeys from Kamo near Whangarei
Post by: Tiki1962 on Saturday 05 May 12 00:23 BST (UK)
I am researching the Hoeys from Kamo near Whangarei. James Hoey married Eliza (Tottie) Huett in 1902. Is anyone researching the same family? Would like to make contact.

Hi,

I spotted an old message from a poster on another board, did you know that Eliza was married prior to James and had another family with him. ( Frederick Aley, he was apparently a cousin of Eliza's)

Cheers

Would love to know where you saw it. Eliza's mother who was also named Eliza was the lady married to Frederick  and her second husband was Alfred Huett, my great great grandfather. Thank you though
Tiki
Ps I am trying to connect the dots with all the information you sent!

Hi there  :) I am related to the Hoey family you are referring to. I live close to Kamo and have information / photos of the family. I was looking on this site for the family of my paternal grandmother but came across your post. Hopefully we can get in touch.

Hi my great grandmother was Annie Robinson née Huett. Her sister was Tottie Huett who married James Hoey. I would love any photos or information if you are willing to share. 😊 I have done some research on James's parents. 😊

Tottie was my Mum's Great Grandmother and she knew her very well. All of the grandchildren and great grandchildren referred to her as 'Nan Nan'. My Mum's grandmother was Gladys, the oldest daughter of James and Eliza. There were six children in their family. The oldest being Cecil, but I believe his first name is James, Clarence, Gladys, Stanley who died at war, Eileen and Sybil. James was a farmer and very successful racehorse breeder. I will ask Mum to look for photos of Eliza and any family members. Mum has been researching other family history but has been unable to find any history in regard to Eliza's family in Britain. She was very excited to hear from you as I was too.
You could email me as it would be easier to keep in touch that way - (*)
The only way I could send you photos would be via my email address. Also what country do you live in?
