Hello :D, Would appreciate some help on deciphering the following two place names in the left-hand image....I'm happy the first word is Down, as in County Down, but the town/village names I'm clueless on!
Also in the right-hand image, what is said below the first Hopton Street?
Thank you in advance,
A

Ar(d)quin?

Hi anabanana :)
I also see Ar(d)quin for the second place.
Could the first one be "Stroul"? The only Stroul I can see on a modern map is in Scotland, but it might be a townland name in Down.
The name under Hopton Street looks like "Dunlop Land/Lund/Lunch" ???
Cheers

Wonder if the first one is supposed to be Struell (Down Civil Parish, Downpatrick Poor Law Union/registration district)?

Thank you all - Aghadowey; Prue and Bristolloggerheads. That makes sense - Ardquin and Struell,,they are quite close to eachother from what I can see on the map - husband from Struell and his wife, Ardquin. Ancestry transcribed them as Stroud and Azgrin! ;D
