My husband's 3 x great grandfather Thomas Skuce was born in Duns Tew about 1811 would anyone be able to look up the parish records and find his christening records. I think his parents might be Thomas and Sophia Skuce but cannot find anything on Family search for the christening or Thomas and Sophia's marriage and would love to know if they are his parents and her maiden name?
There is a Thomas and Sophia living in Duns Tew in 1841 and if these are Thomas parents then Thomas Snr was born in Charlbury, Ox about 1777 but cant find a suitable match on Family search christening records for that village either so if someone could look that up to and found him it would be much appreciated?

I could find no marriage at Duns Tew for Thomas and Sophia but did find the following on OFHS Oxfordshire Marriage Index...
12 May 1801 Thomas Skuse of Duns Tew to Hannah Matthews at Steeple Barton
I can add to this marriage that witnesses were Elizabeth Matthews and Wm Stevenson, this is from Steeple Barton PRs.... There was nothing else for name Skuse in SB...
Now i dont know if this is your Thomas but goin back to Duns Tew PRs there is the following burial..

Did find a William Scuce bapt 13th November 1772 at Charlbury death December 1772
parents Thomas and Ann. So could have tried again with your Thomas snr, still looking
for it though. Then an Ann in 1783 , Richard in 1789. So big gaps there will try and find
Thomas for you but this could be the parents of your Thomas senior.

The marriage of Hannah and Thomas Skuce - could have been his first wife? If I find the marriage to Sophia and his is a widower then that would fit?
I did look on Family search in Charlbury but seemed to be a big gap as there were lots of Skuce baptism but nothing that fitted!?
Marriage of Ann to John Lansbury I have just had a quick look on ancestry and that seems to fit and could be the Ann in the christening that Sue has just told me about! So parts are fitting very nicely!!Thank you

Thomas is the son of William Skuse and Ann Poole, I am a descendant of his sister Sarah Skuse baptised 7 Aug 1767 Charlbury Oxfordshire all the children were born there.
Sarah is my 4 times great grandmother.
