Title: Leipert
Post by: julesmom on Friday 01 June 12 00:43 BST (UK)
I have hit a serious roadblock lol once again. I am trying to figure out my great grandmother's family. Her name was Florentina Leipert and she married Adolf Rhinehart.( in Saskatchewan)  She would have been born in the late 1880's to 1890's..now I am not sure if she was born in Canada or in Russia. And I can't seem to find any records on her.

If anyone could help..I would so appreciate it.

Hi julesmom,

Could you please clarify what information you do have?  Do you know when the marriage took place?  Do you have the certificate?  If so, what does it say in terms of her date and place of birth?

How do you know the Leiperts came from Russia?  Have you found them in any census records yet?

I tried to do some quick searching, but it would help if you could clarify a bit more.

Thanks,

MJP

Hi MJP,

What I have is that she died in 1978 in Maidstone, Saskatchewan, I think she was 95 years old which would make her born around 1883.  She was married twice once to Adolf Rhinehart and he died in 1918 (flu) And then she married a Miller unsure of his first name but I do know he was a sherrif from the US and I have not found any marriage  or birth certificates on any of them.
And she possibly had a brother named Fred or Frank?

I know she was Russian because when she died..her bible was buried with her that contained all the details of life in her family and I believe it was because no one could read it. I was 11 years old when she passed away..I have asked family but no one seems to know much about her or can't remember..very frustrating.

My grandmother Elfreda ( her daughter) was born at Leask or Leader Sask so I know they lived in that area until atleast 1918 then possibly moved to the Maidstone area after that.

So I am really stuck..I hope this helps  :)

So I have been unearthing people so to speak..I have found out that Florentina was indeed born in Russia in 1884 to Flora and John Leipert..she was the youngest of 9 children. Florentina married Adolf Reinfarb (Rhinehart..name was changed after they came to Canada) in 1902 in Russia. Adolf came to Canada in 1913 with his brother in law Gustov Leipert and sent for Florentina in 1914. So now I would like to know how to find out anything on births, marriages etc for them in Russia?

Hello

You should try posting this question on either the Europe or Other Countries boards, dependant on where they hail from, the European or Asian area of Russia.

Had a quick look at Russia, Births and Baptisms, 1755-1917

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/show#uri=http://familysearch.org/searchapi/search/collection/1771027

and Russia, Marriages, 1793-1919

Didn't come across anything under Leipert but you could try using spelling variations.  :(
