Does anyone have any information on the above family. Anne Mulvey, Mary McNama and Bridget Guckian all married into this family and lived here at some time. Any information would be great.

Thanks Tara for your reply. The address is my ancestors family home and I know there is a James Guckian living in the parish of Kiltubbrid in the townland of Derreen (Johnston) on the Griffiths Valuation but I know nothing about him.
I know my gfather Terence Guckian 1876 - 1957 married Bridget also a Guckian which is confusing and they had 6 children. I dont know where Bridget came from but her mother was Mary McNama married to William Guckian.
My ggfather Patrick married Anne Mulvey but again I have no details of her.

Have just seen your posting.
I have connections with Guckian and Mulveys in Leitrim.
My paternal grandmother Mary Anne Mulvey was born in Kiltubrid in 1873 (died Croydon, England) 1958. She was 1 of 11 children. Father Francis Mulvey, schoolteacher, b 1837. 1 of her sisters Catherine b 1864 Kiltubrid married William Guckian b1867.
I knew one of Catherine's brothersPat Guckian b1899 Aughakilconnell but apparently lived some of his earlier life with Mulveys.
Does any of this help?
I can give you anew more dates if you need them

Thanks for replying to my post, John.
I am a Guckian but only recently found that my paternal ggrandmother was Anne Mulvey who married Patrick Guckian. All my relatives with the real knowledge have passed away now, but a cousin tells me that "the old folk" often talked of the Mulveys who were cousins to the Guckians.
I have no dates or any knowledge of Annes family or where they came from. I do remember being taken, as a child, to a newsagent/fancy goods shop in Carrick on Shannon - it belonged to Mulveys. This must have been my fathers cousin - Jimmy? To my knowledge the shop is still there. Sorry this is so vague but if you could give me any background to my family I would be grateful.

There children as far as I know we're
Bernard b1889
William b 1890
Catherine b 1892
Michael b a 1885
Francis b1887
John b 1890
Patrick1899 -1985
Catherine was the sister of my grandmother Mary Ann Mulvey(actually there were about 13 children in the family)
Patrick never married and moved to Croydon and lived for a long time with my grandmother.
Francis married Mary Ann kelly 1890 -
That's all the info that I have on the Guckians . If you need more info on mulveys let me know.
