Title: McMENAMIN - McANULTY
Post by: Jenovo on Monday 23 May 05 02:28 BST (UK)
I am looking for information re my g.g.g.grandparents in Co. Tyrone. The parish eludes me, as when my g.g.grandfather (John McMenamin), emigrated to Australia in 1864 his native place was written as Karman (have looked in just about every variation of this spelling).
Also says his father James was alive at that time.
His mother's maiden name was given as Margaret  McAnulty.
He emigrated with a sister Margaret who was 12 in 1864 but also had a sister Hannah b.circa 1843 living in Sydney with an uncle whose name I cannot decipher.
Can anyone help with where to look beyond the Griffiths and the Tithe Applotments?

Hello Jen,

I looked at www.thecore.com/seanruad and spotted Carrowcolman ...

I'm wondering if Karman (possibly Carman) is an abbreviated version.
